The Snook family bought Clanville Manor and the farm from the Hoare estate in 1898 and ran a dairy farm here for over 100 years.

The house retains a great deal of its original features, but provides modern and comfortable accommodation.
There is an oak staircase in the flagstone entrance hall, with a lovely arched window halfway up.
Clanville Manor provides accommodation near the Bath and West Showground
Guests are welcome to use the drawing room for reading, relaxing, or television viewing. New! There is now  Wi-Fi internet access available at Clanville Manor B&B. Please note that this is a no-smoking house.
Dogs [except assistance dogs] are not allowed to visit, as there are pets in residence!
Clanville Manor has been recommended by the Daily Mail - extract from a newspaper article:
'In the morning, I am greeted by glorious blue sky and bright sunshine. The chickens are going about their business outside my room and I can see a lovely walled garden, where there's a swimming pool, which guests can use in summer'.

The farmhouse provides flexible accommodation, with 4 letting bedrooms.

There are single, twin and double rooms, all with en-suite facilities.

Accommodation for a maximum of 6 people at any one time is offered in the house.

All bedrooms are beautifully furnished and equipped with:

  • En-suite bath or shower room
  • Modern beds, plumbing and central heating
  • Flat screen LCD television with digital 'Freeview' channels
  • Radio
  • Alarm clock
  • Hairdryer
  • Tea and coffee making facilities

The Four-Poster bedroom, which has a six-foot wide opulent four-poster bed and an ensuite shower room, is furnished with mahogany furniture including a wardrobe that has been in the house for at least 80 years. The main window faces south and overlooks the front garden with a lavender bed in the summer and many snowdrops in winter. You can also see the 'archway' leading to the farmyard through our old stone barn - one of very few 'unconverted' barns in Somerset! The shower room faces west and overlooks the Magnolia tree.

The second room has twin beds, that can be 'linked' together to form a super-king double bed, and an ensuite bathroom with a shower over the bath. The wardrobe and dressing table in here belonged to Sally's grandmother who lived to the ripe old age of 97! This room catches the morning sun and overlooks the pond where the mallard ducks live.

The third bedroom is a single and has an ensuite shower room. Refurbished during March 2006, this room has a very 'French' theme and faces west to catch the beautiful sunsets. It is brightly lit by the Magnolia blossom in April.

The fourth bedroom has a 'King' size five-foot double bed, waxed pine furniture, and a spacious ensuite shower room. It can be let as a single room for a small supplement if the single room is already let. It also faces west for sunset viewing, and you can see the walled garden and the trees that border the River Brue.
